At the end of July, Vastari participated in a training event hosted by London Museum Development at the Museum of London, for curatorial staff from London based institutions.

The training day explored the topic of loans, and we spoke alongside other museums and exhibition producers, discussing everything from borrowing from public institutions, displaying works in a secure environment, exploring private collections, hosting travelling shows, and completing paperwork!

Our team introduced the Vastari platform to the attendees before speaking in more depth about the benefits of borrowing from private collections. We gave examples of recent case studies, some key facts and figures, and a demonsration of the database, before answering questions at the networking lunch.

Training events such as these are a useful and enjoyable way to connect with museums and curators from a local area, giving us the chance to introduce the platform through a respected voluntary body that represents national museum development.

It is also a great way to meet our members face to face, and on this occasion we were lucky enough to meet a curator with whom we have been working closely for the last few months, having just succesfully faciliated two loans for their upcoming exhibition. It's always nice to meet our members, expecially after such success!

Thanks to London Museum Development for including us in this training event!

We also frequently organise individual 'Lunch and Learn' sessions, where we visit staff at their own institutions to demonstrate the platform and answer any questions. If you or anyone at your museum is interested in organising a private training session with the Vastari team, then contact our Exhibition Loan Specialist Ruby here.
