We were very proud to organise for the first time a charitable event at one of our members’ homes in partnership with a prestigious collectors club!
Our goal was simply to bring together art lovers and provide them with a wonderful opportunity to discover a treasure trove of Modern and Contemporary Art, while contributing to a worthwhile cause. But we ended up having full house - around 70 guests - in such an intimate evening, and this event was particularly special for us because we were able to share one of our success stories in connecting this collector with a museum.
The collectors literally opened their home entirely, presented the whole collection to the visitors, and presented information about the charity, The Richard House Children's Hospice, which provides palliative care to children with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions. This initiative also touched all of us with their fascinating work!
The evening left us feeling inspired and emotional after hearing stories about the collection, and charity. A significant number of pieces within the collection were gifts from blue chip artists, which made the collectors emphasize the verb “to give” a lot during their speech. They were really able to show us how fulfilling “giving” is. We just feel now that by giving a little bit of our time and care to organise this event, we were able to give a lot to the group that joined us… and also to this children’s hospice, as all proceeds from the tickets that Vastari sold were donated to them!
Thank you to all those involved, and let’s always remember: “we make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give!”
